David Aamodt served as the associate general counsel for Portland General Electric, a Fortune 500 utility company, for 18 years before joining Markowitz, Herbold, Glade & Mehlhaf in 2011. During his tenure at PGE he handled some of the company’s most complicated and significant litigation matters.
Dave’s nearly two decades with PGE makes him an invaluable resource for energy companies facing any type of utility or regulatory litigation. He also handles general commercial litigation, government and tort matters. Just recently, Dave became a mediator of civil disputes. His experience at PGE and MHGM gives him a broad perspective with which to draw upon in mediation. He is fair, knowledgeable, level-headed and an excellent facilitator.
At PGE, Dave managed important civil cases such as PGE v. Westinghouse and CRPUD v. PGE. Prior to joining the company, he led the Oregon Department of Justice’s Civil Enforcement section where he supervised more than 80 attorneys and 100 investigators, paralegals and support staff.
Earlier in his career Dave was the city attorney for Roseburg, Oregon, served in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps, was a staff attorney for Governor Straub and a metropolitan public defender.
