Emily Teplin Fox Joins Markowitz, Herbold, Glade & Mehlhaf

Portland business litigation firm Markowitz, Herbold, Glade & Mehlhaf, PC announced today that litigator Emily Teplin Fox has joined the firm as an associate. Fox’s practice will focus on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on breach of contract, partnership disputes, securities litigation, professional malpractice and other business matters.
Fox joined MHGM from Minnesota, where she served as a law clerk for Judge John R. Tunheim, United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. She also clerked for Judge Diana E. Murphy of the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Fox brings a strong background in public service, including applying her legal education to support underserved populations. She was awarded a national Equal Justice Works fellowship at the Minnesota Disability Law Center to protect and enforce the right to effective communication for deaf and hard of hearing people in the criminal justice system. Fox received the Legal Advocacy award from Communication Services for the Deaf for her efforts.
At Yale Law School, Fox represented prison inmates and domestic violence survivors through the Jerome N. Frank Legal Services Organization, where she received the Stephen J. Massey Prize for exemplifying the clinic’s values.
