Biography
Bill Mehlhaf is a seasoned litigator and business lawyer. He has tried and arbitrated countless cases at both the trial and appellate levels for self-insured clients such as Shell Oil Company, Mobil Oil Corporation, Gulf Oil Company and May Department Stores. Practicing in the state and federal courts in Oregon and Washington, Bill has developed expertise in a wide range of matters including antitrust, franchise disputes, contracts, real estate related issues, director and officer liability, shareholder disputes, landlord-tenant claims, personal injury and other business torts.
In addition to his litigation practice, Bill has broad experience in general business matters, including transactional work, corporate and other entity formations and business acquisitions.
Bill is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Business Litigation, and has been named a Super Lawyer, an honor limited to the top five percent of attorneys in Oregon. Portland Monthly magazine rates him among the top lawyers in the city.
Bill is a lifelong resident of the Willamette Valley and received his undergraduate and law degrees from Oregon universities. Before joining the firm as a shareholder in 1989, he was a partner in two other Portland firms.
