Biography
Michele Stone is a trial lawyer focusing on commercial litigation. She brings poise and keen attention to detail to a wide array of legal matters, including cases involving employment issues, trade secrets, contract matters and insurance coverage disputes. She also has experience with alternative dispute resolution and appellate matters.
Michele works on some of the firm’s largest, most complex cases. She has represented manufacturers, agribusinesses, auto dealers, technology companies and energy companies to name a few.
In addition to business litigation, Michele provides pro bono services in the family law arena, assisting victims of domestic violence. From 2006 to 2010, she served on the board of directors of Bradley-Angle House, the West Coast’s oldest domestic violence shelter. Michele also has volunteered for the Multnomah Bar Association’s Imprint Program, a mentoring program that helps middle- and high-school students improve their writing skills, and has written a chapter on damages for the Oregon State Bar Continuing Legal Education series. She is a frequent presenter on e-discovery issues.
In 1998, Michele earned her law degree and certificate in environmental and natural resources law from Lewis and Clark College. Before making Oregon her permanent home in 2005, Michele lived in Colorado, where she was a litigation associate with the Denver office of Greenberg Traurig, one of the largest law firms in the country.
