Portland, Ore. --
March 27, 2007 -- Portland litigation firm Markowitz, Herbold, Glade & Mehlhaf is pleased to announce that Matt Levin, an attorney and shareholder with the firm, has been recognized by the
Portland Business Journal as one of the top forty young leaders in the business community.
The “Forty Under 40” is an annual listing of Portland’s business elite under the age of 40. Recipients are honored for their high level of professional achievement and leadership in the community.
At Markowitz, Herbold, Glade & Mehlhaf, Levin resolves complex business disputes for clients ranging from individuals and local startups to Fortune 500 corporations. In addition to his focus on business litigation, including contract disputes, employment matters, accounting malpractice and real estate disputes, Levin has developed a distinctive sports litigation practice, representing adidas, Andre Agassi and Shaquille O’Neal in business and endorsement matters. He co-teaches a sports law class at Lewis & Clark Law School.
Levin is a board member for the St. Andrew Legal Clinic, which provides family law services to low-income families, and for the Portland Youth Golf Association, which teaches life skills to underserved kids. He also does pro bono work for non-profits including the IMAGO Theater, The Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation and the Rock N’ Roll Camp for Girls.
Recipients of the Forty Under 40 Award were chosen based on three criteria: leadership in business, business recognition and community involvement. This year’s winners were featured in the March 23 issue of the
Portland Business Journal and were honored at a private event on March 22 at Morton’s steakhouse in Portland.
