February 23, 2007 -- Lynn Nakamoto, managing shareholder of Portland litigation firm Markowitz, Herbold, Glade & Mehlhaf, PC, was recently honored for her efforts to promote the advancement of diversity in Oregon.
The John Grigsby-Jim Vegher Investments in Dignity Award was presented to Nakamoto at the Equity Foundation’s 7th Annual Investments in Dignity Awards and Auction, held in Portland on February 15.
The award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution of time and energy to champion Equity Foundation’s mission to build communities that embrace the dignity and worth of all people. Equity Foundation is the state’s only community foundation focused primarily on promoting equality for the Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Questioning (GLBTQ) community. Jocelyn White, medical director of palliative and hospice care for Legacy Health Systems, also received the award.
At Markowitz, Herbold, Glade & Mehlhaf, Nakamoto concentrates her practice on civil appeals and business and employment litigation, representing both employees and employers.
